Sinful Corruption

The world is made up of rules society knows to follow.

Doctors cause no harm.
The mafia aren’t allowed to eliminate a rival on the family’s front lawn.
And killing cops is not a line one should cross.
But with a dead body lying in the street and the victim carrying a badge, my worst fears are brought screaming to the surface.
Professionally, I’m his medical examiner.
Personally, I’m married to his colleague.
